    Buxton - Quarry

Removal of Ash (Fraxinus Excelsior) trees that show signs of Ash dieback (Hymenoscyphus Fraxineus) and pose a risk to the adjacent open highway, people or property, as per government guidelines. Although our services predominantly involve difficult access, this work site was in an area of quarry owned woodland.

    Action Taken

A variety of felling methods were used on this work scope to remove small trees and early mature trees using basic felling techniques as well as more advanced techniques incorporating wedges, winching and technical cuts for larger trees.

In addition, trees needed to be climbed and dismantled where space wasn’t available to fell them.

Timber was removed and the team planted a variety of broadleaf species including Lyme trees (Tilia Cordata), Silver Birch (Betula Pendula), Rowan (Sorbus Aucparia), Field Maple (Acer Campestre), and Sycamore (Acer Pseudoplatanus).
